SPECIAL QUARTER WINTER 2014

ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE AND CLIMATE CHANGE

Worried about the environment? Want to know more about climate change and how you can help?

The Fairhaven College of Interdisciplinary Studies at Western Washington University is offering a Special Quarter for Winter Quarter 2014 on the theme of Environmental Justice & Climate Change. We hope you will join us!

Special Quarter Mission Statement: We will engage the campus and community in critical analysis of global climate change and its disparate impacts on communities, with an emphasis on environmental justice, and the personal and collective agency we have to make a difference.

ALL WWU students (not just Fairhaven students) are invited to take our courses. All of our Special Quarter classes (9 of them!) will join the Fairhaven World Issues Forum every week to hear experts on Environmental Justice & Climate Change. This linking between courses will ensure a common base of knowledge and deepen the conversation on the theme, all well as provide a variety of perspectives on the issues involved.

At the end of the quarter, all of the Special Quarter classes will present what they have learned to the WWU community in a special presentation and celebration. For more information on the Special Quarter in general, please email Julie.Helling@wwu.edu.

*All WWU students are invited to participate in this special quarter!!

**Please note: you are welcome to take more than one of the classes offered, but because all of the classes overlap the World Issues Forum, a time conflict will appear when you try to register. To get an override, please email Kathy.Johnson@wwu.edu.
