Western Washington University's Western Gallery and Western’s AIGA Student Group is proud to present an exhibition dedicated to the work of Award-winning designer Michael Vanderbyl, from April 13 through May 30. Gallery is open Monday-Friday, 10am - 4pm, except Wednesdays, 10am to 8pm, and Saturday, 12-4pm. Admission is free.

In conjunction with the exhibition, Western Gallery is featuring an evening lecture by Michael Vanderbyl at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 21. Reception will follow in the Western Gallery. The lecture is free to attend, but tickets are required and seating is limited. About Michael Vanderbyl
Established in San Francisco in 1973, “Vanderbyl Design” has evolved into an internationally prominent, multidisciplinary studio with expertise in graphics, packaging, signage, interiors, showrooms, retail spaces, furniture, textiles, and fashion apparel. Vanderbyl’s work has garnered him recognition as a practitioner, educator, critic and advocate for design. Vanderbyl’s showroom design for Teknion in Chicago, his Cambridge chair for HBF, and his home textiles for Esprit are just a few of his award-winning projects. His large and diverse client list includes companies such as Walt Disney, IBM, Bernhardt Furniture, California Conservation Corps, Windquest Racing Yacht, Napa Valley Vintners, and the American Institute of Architects. Currently he presides as Dean of Design at the California College of the Arts, his alma mater.

Join us for Spring Studio Tours in Bellingham. This year two firms will open their doors and invite us in. Toolhouse is loaded with Western grads and we'll also do and inhouse stop at Boundary Bay directed by another WWU Design Alum.
