What are the prerequisites for entry into a program in CHIROPRACTIC?
To be competitive for entry into a professional program in chiropractic, students must complete an undergraduate degree, complete a specified set of prerequisites and obtain hours in the field working with physical therapy professionals. There are some 3/2 programs available where a student can apply without the undergraduate degree. To meet the requirements for a number of programs, students complete:
- general chemistry series (Chem 121, 122, 123),
- organic chemistry (10 credits from Chem 351-355)
- physics (10 credits which can include biomechanics or kinesiology) (Physics 114, 115, KIN 311, 312)
- anatomy and physiology (Bio 348, 349),
- microbiology optional (Bio 345/346 or 245),
- statistics (Math 240 or KIN 307), and
- some psychology (Psych 101 and Psych 230 or 250)
