I’ve grown up knowing the importance of both education and balance. Throughout high school, I aspired to achieve academically and beyond. I ran cross country and track, and was the cross country captain for two years and competed at the state level three times. I was also an ASB Activities Coordinator, planning several school events, and involved in Honor Society, Key Club, and even dabbled in Latin Club my junior year. My mom and I actually argued about this scholarship. I was about to leave but my mom asked me to look at the scholarship application she had found for me. I was pretty set on leaving because the scholarship was due the next day and there was no way we could send everything necessary in one day -- it would never reach its destination in time. After much argument, I did everything I could online and sent it off. The next day at school, I spent my lunch time sending everything off. Apparently it paid off and I’ve learned a valuable lesson: mom is always right.

“…I am very excited to begin the next chapter in my life.”

This scholarship will help to alleviate some of the burden that comes with paying for college, and make it so that I will not be required to work my first quarter, but focus on adjusting to college life.

I like to run, listen to music, read, absorb some sunshine (when we get it), go shopping, and spend time with my friends.

I have not had a single experience that has greatly impacted my life, however I have had many wonderful people positively influence it, especially my family.
