Major - Music Performance
Hometown - Shoreline, WA

“I anticipate that these funds would permit me to reduce my debt loan, allowing me to pursue my career dreams upon graduation in the music performance field that, while immensely personally rewarding, is often very much less so financially.”

I am currently a WWU senior majoring in music performance in violin. My love of music is what drives my life and my ambition is to become both a music performer and an educator. I strive to achieve excellence in my violin playing as well as in academic subjects, as these are also essential for a successful start to my professional career through a college education. Additionally, I think that my active involvement in the music scene in the community also contributed to the development of my college profile since hands-on extracurricular activities are an integral part of a well-rounded college education.

This scholarship has allowed me to focus on my studies and community music involvement by allowing me to take a lighter part-time work load, as well as helping me avoid financing my education through loans. More importantly, the receipt of this scholarship is a great honor that had been so graciously bestowed upon me, and it gives me confidence and strength to pursue my professional and career dreams with a renewed vigor.

For fun, I like to take long beachside walks and entertain with my friends and family.

I think my family had the strongest influence on my development, both personally and professionally. It was through their faith in me and dedication to my success that I was able to get to where I am today.
