Major - Management Information Systems
Hometown - Westport, WA
"I am so thankful that there are generous people like you in the world that are willing to give their time and effort to help support students like me achieve higher education."
I grew up in Westport, a small fishing town on the coast of Washington. In high school, I found that I really like to work with technology. Luckily Grays Harbor is a very supportive community, and because of that, I was able to afford to come to WWU in the first place. I have always wanted to make the most of my education, so that’s why I’ve made it my goal to major in Management Information Systems, minor in computer science, and receive a Web Development Certificate through the Internet Studies Center. I definitely wanted to leave WWU with as little debt as possible, so it was an easy choice to apply for this scholarship.
This scholarship, along with other scholarships, has immensely helped my life in many ways. I have been able to focus more on school rather than trying to juggle work and school at the same time. I am also very grateful that after graduation, I won’t have to be strained by paying of a huge loan. For students like us, $1000 can go a long way!
I like to go fishing, hiking, swimming, playing basketball, barbequing, camping, movies and hanging out with friends.
This summer and fall, I will be working as a Software Development Intern at SPIE. So far it has been a great experience.
