Major - International Business Administration and French
Hometown - Vancouver, WA

ÔÇťAgain, thank you for helping me accomplish my dreams of being first of my family to graduate from college.”

My dream had always been to go to college, but being a first generation college student posed as a challenge for accomplishing my dreams. My first year at Western I decided I wanted to major in International Business Administration and French, but I wasn't sure if financially I could make it past my first year of college. Thankfully, my RD recommended this scholarship and I managed to receive it!

I am paying to go to school on my own. My parents do not help me, so I work two jobs and apply for as many scholarships I can so that I can help relieve the debt I'm accumulating from student loans. This scholarship has helped me continue my education and has supported me as I follow my dream to be the first of my family to recieve a degree, as well as be a director for international studies.

Last year was my first year working as a Resident Advisor at Western and it was such an amazing experience. It helped me grow as a leader and really get to have an impact here at Western. I loved it and learned so much that I'm returning again this upcoming year!

When I'm not studying I'm out exploring Bellingham, drinking tons of coffee, or just spending time with my friends.
