“As a student who works seasonly outside of the school year, it can be difficult to afford school without taking out loans. With your generous contribution my loans will be less of a worry.”

I am a 19 year old from Tacoma WA.  I graduated at the top of my Wilson High School class while also working part time, volunteering at the Tacoma Nature Center and participating in multiple extra-curricular activities such as Show Choir and Irish Step Dancing. I am a hardworking student who is very involved and I have managed to keep a high GPA while at Western. Through my hard work in high school, I have managed to get enough dual credit to end my first year at Western as a sophomore, and I will become a junior soon with hard work and dedication.

This scholarship has impacted my life by enabling me to fund my next year at Western with less worry. I am considered an independent student, so I am paying for my schooling. I only work a part time job each summer, so I cannot make enough money to send myself to school. Through scholarships, I am able to continue my education and pursue my life long dream of working in the mental health field by  getting my degree in Psychology.

When I am not studying, I enjoy singing, dancing, working with kids and hanging out with all of my friends. I currently work at the YMCA Day Camps as a counselor because working with kids is my favorite pasttime other than being with my family and Friends.
