“As a student who has recently left the workforce to pursue higher education, it means a lot to me that resources such as this scholarship exist to help students attain their higher educational goals.”

The financial assistance provided by this scholarship will help offset educational expenses - including fees for the classes I am taking, art supplies and textbooks. Receiving this scholarship has enabled me to focus on my studies and art instead of splitting my efforts between a part-time job and classes.

I just finished my first year after transferring to Western in the fall and am proud that my efforts have paid off in a high GPA. On top of that, I was involved in volunteer opportunities, such as encouraging girls to pursue their interests in Computer Science, gave a presentation during Scholar’s Week, and participated in various shows and exhibitions on campus.

When I'm not studying, I like to go on runs, take photographs and visit museums. I'm also fond of traveling and try to go somewhere new every couple of months.
