“This scholarship has made college a possibility for me, and I am so grateful to be one of the recipients.”

I am going to Western to receive my teaching degree, and I dream of bringing quality education to those who might not receive it otherwise. I would love to travel after I graduate and teach children in rural areas. This would not be a possibility for me if I had to pay off student debt, but thankfully this scholarship has helped me afford tuition.

By making Western a possibility for me, this scholarship has also allowed me the opportunity to participate in service learning. This experience has changed the way I think about life because it gave me the chance to work with some amazing children. I want to live my life in a way that gives back to the community and makes a difference in the lives of others.

When I am not studying, I like to play the ukulele and sing with my friends. I also love to work as a counselor at a Christian children’s camp in the summer.
