Research Interests
Patrick specializes in surface and materials chemistry, ordered molecular systems, and nanoscience. His recent work includes investigations into the use of nematic liquid crystal solvents to prepare materials with engineered nanoscale structure and organization. This work explores new approaches for ordering carbon nanotubes and related nanoparticles, the development of a techniques for growing highly ordered films of organic semiconductor compounds under technologically favorable conditions, and approaches for engineering order in monolayer molecular films.
