The Washington State Attorney General's Office provides legal services to Western Washington University (WWU) in Bellingham, Washington. Assistant Attorneys General appointed to WWU serve as legal advisors to the Board of Trustees and initiate or defend lawsuits on behalf of the university.
The office also provides quality legal services to the president, vice presidents, deans, faculty and staff in a variety of areas, including student affairs, risk management, contract drafting and review, real estate, intellectual property, state ethics law, academic and exempt personnel matters, and compliance with public records and open meetings laws.
Our goal is to provide counsel to prevent or minimize legal risk and costs, reduce litigation exposure, and ensure timely legal compliance with state and federal laws. Our aim is to be efficient, cordial, ethical, reliable and professional in our dealings with others.
