The Washington State Attorney General's Office provides legal services to Western Washington University (WWU) in Bellingham, Washington. Assistant Attorneys General appointed to WWU serve as legal advisors to the Board of Trustees and initiate or defend lawsuits on behalf of the university.

The office also provides quality legal services to the president, vice presidents, deans, faculty and staff in a variety of areas, including student affairs, risk management, contract drafting and review, real estate, intellectual property, state ethics law, academic and exempt personnel matters, and compliance with public records and open meetings laws.
