What is Viking Band?
Viking Band is the newest performing ensemble at WWU. We are an exciting, spirited group of students who love Band, Western, and Sports. This group is not a marching band. We are a Pep-Band. We perform in the stands at all home conference Volleyball and Basketball games.
Who can be in Viking Band?
This group is open to any WWU student who plays a band instrument. There is no audition for the group. At this time we do not have a color guard or flag team.
What is the time commitment for Viking Band?
There will be 3 evening rehearsals (Thursdays 7-9) at the beginning of the season. After that we just play the games.
How much does it cost to join Viking Band?
There is a $20 uniform fee payable at the first rehearsal in the fall.

Can I take Viking Band for credit?
At the moment, Viking Band is NOT offered for credit.
We are an official campus organization. . .but not a class.
HOW DO I JOIN VIKING BAND?
Step 1:

Step 2:
Wait for the VIKING BAND SUMMER LETTER. This letter should arrive at the end of August. It will contain detailed information about the beginning of our 2009-2010 Season.
Step 3:
Hardcore Members: Meet in Rm. 24 at 6:00PM on Thursday Sept. 24. We will get organized and perform "on the fly" for the first Volleyball game.
All Members: Report to Rm. 24 at 6PM with your instrument for our first rehearsal on Thursday Oct. 1.
