Shared Use Copiers

Departments and students on campus have access to shared convenience copiers located in the majority of campus buildings. Walk-up self-serve copiers are available for department and student use at $.069 per copy for card use and $.10 per copy for cash use. Both cash (student or faculty) and department customers can access shared copiers on campus by activating the attached copier card reader with WWU ID cards or copy cards.

  • All purchasing, service, supplies, installation, training and copier customer assistance are coordinated by Copier Services and provided to the department as part of the $.069 per copy charge.
  • A card reader is attached to the copier to monitor copy use. The copier charges are deducted from information encoded on copy cards.
  • Copier Services is responsible for supplying paper for shared use copiers.
  • The type of copier installed is based on the copier volume for the past fiscal year.

High Volume Department Copiers

Departments on campus can elect to have a copier provided to their department at a per copy rate with the following conditions:

  • All purchasing, service, supplies, installation, training and copier customer assistance are coordinated by Copier Services and provided to the departments as part of the per copy charge.
  • The copier charges are billed to a single account. No card reader is attached.
  • Most copier models have internal accounting capabilities allowing the department to control access and monitor copier use internally.
  • Departments are responsible for supplying paper for the copier.
  • Copier Services will determine the type of copier based on the department volume for the past fiscal year.
  • The entire cost of the copier must be covered by the per copy charge. If the cost is not covered by the per copy charge, the department will have the option of changing to a smaller, less expensive copier or switching to the low volume program if no satisfactory copier is available.

Low Volume Department Copiers

Campus departments whose volume levels do not qualify for copier installation under Shared Use or High Volume, or departments who would like additional features added to the copier can choose to rent a copier under the Low Volume program.

Department copier rentals have the following restrictions:

  • Departments pay a base rental rate plus a per copy charge for the use of the copier.
  • The base rental rate will vary depending on the model of copier selected.
  • All purchasing, service, supplies, installation, training and copier customer assistance are coordinated by Copier Support and provided to the departments as part of the per copy charge.
  • The copier charges are billed to a single account. No card reader is attached.
  • Some larger copier models have internal auditron capabilities allowing the department to control access and monitor copier use internally.
  • Departments are responsible for supplying paper for the copier.
  • Copier Services will provide a choice of copiers and copier features based on the needs of the department and available department funds.
