Checklist sea-spit, steamed milk, swallowed cloud.
Doctor’s face churning
nothing we can do, nothing now. Servant waiting in a kitchen chair.
Near hinged black bag.
Glasses of water fracture, hatch prisms’ jangled light.
Checklist tonsils, pulse.
No biting: Papa or Papa. Checklist tongue. Prayer
forgive Jimka as I have. Nip nip
a girl skipping to school. Protection our secret. Swear.
