Welcome to the WWU PCard Program

The Purchasing Card (PCard) is a purchasing option at WWU that allows you to make low-value material and supply purchases with a University issued VISA credit card. The card can purchase items up to $3,000 per transaction (greater with prior approval). The system includes an online method for transaction review and budget reallocation.

Only permanent University employees are eligible to obtain and use a PCard.

The purpose of the PCard program is to improve the efficiency, flexibility, and convenience related to purchasing small dollar goods and services. The PCard provide an alternative procurement method for purchases and used within the same statutes, rules, policies, and procedures as purchases by any other means of payment.

The Vice President for Business and Financial Affairs encourages PCard use for certain purchases. The PCard is the preferred method for handling purchases below the designated dollar limit in order to reduce transaction costs to the University.

The Vice President for Business and Financial Affairs through University Policy U5348.04 has appointed the Purchasing Department for the overall management of the Purchasing Card Program.

Employees must complete a mandatory training program and sign a Cardholder Agreement prior to obtaining a PCard.
