We are pleased to offer a variety of climbing classes at the Wade King Student Recreation Center for climbers of all abilities!

Indoor Climbing 101
Like any sport, climbing can be DANGEROUS. By educating yourself about proper safety practices you will lessen your risk of injury. Learn basic climbing etiquette and how to utilize spotters and fall as safely as possible to minimize your risk of injury.Time: Monday, September 21, 2009 at 9:00 p.m.
Cost: FREE!
Movement Essentials
Bouldering is becoming an increasingly popular work out and requires no equipment aside from your own hands and feet. In this class you will learn how to climb without ropes, how to fall safely and proper spotting technique. Also covered are some of the basic tenets of climbing technique and movement. To register please stop by the front desk or speak with an instructor.Time: Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m.
Cost: $15 - Minimum class size: 2 people - Maximum class size: 8 people
Wall Orientation Workshop
Participants of the Wall Orientation Workshop (WOW) must pre-register with the front desk. The workshop will last approximately 3 hours and will include instruction, practice belaying & knots, basic climbing techniques, climbing wall etiquette and conditioning. Equipment rental is included in the cost of the workshop.Time: Mondays at 6:00 p.m.
Cost: $25 - Minimum class size: 2 people - Maximum class size: 8 people
Lead Climbing
This class provides a thorough introduction to indoor 'sport' lead climbing. You will learn proper belaying and clipping techniques, belayer-climber communication and numerous safety issues.Time: Scheduled upon request
Cost: $25 - Minimum class size: 2 people - Maximum class size: 6 people
