Information Sessions and Tables

Information Sessions

Information sessions are scheduled presentations students are invited to attend to learn more about a company or organization. We often brand these info sessions depending upon the topic. For example: ‘Tech Talks,’ in which representatives from your company can share about new technologies in a particular industry, or, ‘Meet the Employer,’ in which students can learn and ask questions about your company, organization, or industry. There is no cost to schedule an info session on-campus.

Tips for Success

  • Schedule in advance. The earlier an info session is schedule, the more promotion the event will receive. We recommend scheduling an info session at least a quarter before you intend to visit campus.
  • We discourage scheduling interviews during dead week and finals week. We can assist you with navigating key academic dates.
  • The best time of day to host an info session is when most students are out of class. Most frequently they are held after 4:00 pm, but we will work with you to determine the best time based on the students you want to reach.
  • Having food provided at an event is a great promotional tool. To order food on-campus please visit WWU Catering’s website at: https://wwu.catertrax.com. For more information or if you have any questions, please contact the Catering Services at 360.3650.3933. Check out the pizza options here!
  • Provide a flyer for the event. This flyer will be send out to relevant departments, faculty, and student clubs, as well as posted on the free poster boards on campus.

Information Tables

Information tables offer a free opportunity for company representatives to meet and talk with students between classes in high-traffic areas on campus. They involve company representatives staffing a table at a location on campus determined by your needs for a few hours to meet and interact with students.

Tips for Success

  • The more time advance an info table is schedule, the more promotion the visit will receive. We recommend scheduling an info table at least a quarter before you intend to visit campus.
  • We discourage scheduling interviews during dead week and finals week. We can assist you with navigating key academic dates.
  • The best time to host an info table is during high-traffic hours of the day – between 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
  • Students are attracted to an approachable table. We would encourage you to send enthusiastic representatives, setup a descriptive sign, tablecloth or banner, and offer giveaways students would be interested in.

Recruitment Policies

WWU policies prohibits leafleting on-campus. Leafleting refers to the distribution of flyers/leaflets to students/faculty and campus visitors that do not explicitly approach the reserved table.
