Information Sessions and Tables

Information Sessions

Information sessions are scheduled presentations students attend to learn more about a company or organization, or an industry or topic. For example: ‘Tech Talks,’ in which representatives from your company can share about new technologies, or, ‘Meet the Employer,’ in which students can learn and ask questions about your company, organization, or industry. There is no cost to schedule an info session on campus.

Tips for Success:

  • Schedule in advance. The earlier an info session is scheduled, the more promotion the event will receive. We recommend scheduling an info session at least a quarter before you intend to visit campus, or a minimum of 4-6 weeks.
  • Be flexible with dates. Sometimes there are major events, holidays or scheduling considerations with the academic calendar. We can assist you with navigating key dates.
  • The best time of day to host an info session is when most students are out of class. Most frequently they are held after 4:00 pm, but we will work with you to determine the best time based on the students you want to reach.
  • Having food provided at an event is a great promotional tool. For more information or if you have any questions, please contact the Catering Services at 360.360.3933.
  • Provide a flyer for the event. This flyer will be send out to relevant departments, faculty, and student clubs, as well as posted on the free poster boards on campus.

Note: if you require special setup or clean-up of your activity, charges may apply.

Information Tables

Information tables offer a low-cost opportunity for to meet and talk with students between classes in high-traffic areas on campus. They involve company representatives staffing a table at a location on campus determined by your needs for a few hours to meet and interact with students. Information tables cost $25/day.

Tips for Success:

  • Schedule in advance. The earlier an info session is scheduled, the more promotion the event will receive. We recommend scheduling an info session at least a quarter before you intend to visit campus, or a minimum of 4-6 weeks.
  • We discourage tabling during reflection week and finals week. We can assist you with navigating key academic dates.
  • The best time to host an info table is during high-traffic hours of the day – between 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
  • Students are attracted to an approachable table. We would encourage you to send enthusiastic representatives, setup a descriptive sign, tablecloth or banner, and offer giveaways or refreshments.

Recruitment Policies

WWU policies prohibits leafleting on-campus. Leafleting refers to the distribution of flyers/leaflets to students/faculty and campus visitors that do not explicitly approach the reserved table. You/your representatives are expected to be behind or at your table while you are on campus. Flyers are not permitted to be posted across campus except through Career Services/AS Publicity and it is expected that your materials are removed at the end of your presentation or visit.
