Health Professional and Grad School Fair

Information for Professional & Graduate School Representatives

This annual event, begun in 1995 as a Health Sciences Professional School Info Fair, expanded in 2008 to also include non-health graduate disciplines. Your attendance offers you direct interaction with students to inform them about your program as well as application requirements and procedures.

Western Washington University (WWU) enrolls 15,000 students and offers 160 academic programs. Students of all class levels attend this event. It is also open to the public, with community members often attending. Two community colleges, Whatcom Community College and Skagit Valley College, and Northwest Indian College are located within a 35-mile radius.

Location of Event

Western Washington University is located in Bellingham, Washington. The Viking Union Multipurpose Room (VU MPR) is located on Western's north campus which overlooks Bellingham Bay plus several of Puget Sound's 172 San Juan Islands. The University is 90 miles north of Seattle, and 55 miles south of Vancouver, Canada.

Event Time Frames

• 8:30-10:00 a.m. - Van shuttle for registered vendors runs between parking and event locations
• 10:00-2:00 - Event in progress; NO SHUTTLES are in operation
• 2:00 p.m. - Shuttle service from the VU to the parking lot resumes

Amenities

We provide a 3'x 6' table and two chairs (but no table drape). Due to space limitations, we request vendors use only tabletop displays rather than large floor-based backdrops. One parking pass and one boxed lunch are provided per registration.

Conditions of Participation

We accommodate schools and programs that are in compliance with WWU's Career Services Center's Recruitment Policy.

Registration Fees

$100 includes one table and chair set up, one vehicle parking pass, and one lunch. Additional lunches may be purchased (see registration form) at $10 each. Registration is due October 10, 2012.

Refunds

No refunds can be made after October 17, 2012.

Event Confirmation

Confirmations will be e-mailed approximately two weeks prior to the event date. Receipt of confirmation is your authorization to participate in this event.

Materials must be received by 5 p.m. Friday, October 19. Avoid surprises. Confirm delivery of shipped materials through your carrier's online tracking system (FedEx, UPS, etc.).

We are unable to feature literature from non-registered programs at this event.

Parking and Special Accommodations

Approximately two weeks prior to the event, registrants will be e-mailed information pertaining to on-campus parking assignments. Parking permits are not pre-shipped. A University representative will be at the assigned parking lot from 8:30-10 a.m. the day of the event to issue parking passes to registrants upon their arrival. Shuttle service will run between the parking and event locations from 8:30-10 a.m. and again at 2:00 p.m.
