Now in its 9th season, we have renamed the Sanford-Hill Piano Series to coincide with exciting changes - including our growing number of distinctive pianists and a new Steinway concert grand piano for our performances!

Joel FanUPDATE: This evening concert will feature Joel Fan, an incredibly dynamic and accomplished pianist who has collaborated with such renowned artists as Yo-Yo Ma. Alexander Kobrin, the original artist for the evening, is unable to perform due to a family emergency. Praised as a "champion of new music" by the Boston Globe, Fan is passionate about expanding repertoire written for the piano. He performs as a member of the Silk Road Ensemble, a collective of musicians and performing artists from more than 20 countries that create new music and multimedia pieces, and has undertaken a multi-year commissioning project of several solo and concerto works. He has appeared as both a soloist and with numerous orchestras around the world, including the New York Philharmonic and the Singapore Symphony, and scored two consecutive Billboard Top 10 debuts with his solo albums. In addition to his performances in venues around the world and acclaimed recordings, Mr. Fan has been a guest artist on "Good Morning America" and "Late Night with David Letterman." The Anderson & Roe Piano DuoDescribed as “Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers transposed from the dance floor to the keyboard” by the Southampton Press, Greg Anderson and Elizabeth Joy Roe revitalize the concert stage with their four-hand, two-piano performances. Their unique repertoire ranges from classical masterpieces to contemporary tunes and original compositions, all of which they combine to create thrilling performances that have amazed audiences worldwide. Awadagin PrattWinner of the Naumburg International Piano Competition and recipient of the Avery Fisher Career Grant, Awadagin Pratt has performed throughout the world as both a soloist and conductor. He has been featured on the Today Show, Good Morning America, Sesame Street, and has been invited to perform on several occasions at the White House. Mr. Pratt currently serves as Associate Professor of Piano and Artist in Residence at the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati. Date: Tuesday, October 25, 2011 |
