VERDI’S TE DEUM - A 100 VOICE CHOIR FOR THIS ROMANTIC MASTERPIECE
This year there will be a large choir of 100-120 to perform Te Deum by Giuseppe Verdi, the last work the maestro penned. It is for double chorus and large orchestra and will be performed at the Mount Baker Theater. The Te Deum is a 15 minute masterpiece.

A SUMMER NIGHT OF LOVE IN OLD VIENNA FOR 40 - A VOICE CHAMBER CHOIR
This choir will be chosen from the large Verdi choir and will perform masterpieces of choral and piano works of Schubert and Brahms in the Western Washington University Performing Arts Center. This intimate concert will explore these two composer’s lives through their music.

Musical scores will be sent to you in advance of the Symposium; participants may choose from, or be assigned to, a specific repertoire. You may choose from Verdi’s Te Deum and/or A Summer Night of Love in Old Vienna, choral music of Schubert and Brahms, which will be sent to you after you have registered for the Choral Arts Symposium. You may request a particular work or works and prepare an analysis before the first class or wait to be assigned in the first class.
