Elyse C. Alper Scholarship for International Studies

Don and Jan Alper established this scholarship in 2010 to honor and celebrate the life of their daughter Elyse and carry forward her lifelong joy of traveling and establishing friendships across continents. This scholarship provides opportunities for students to study outside the United States at recognized universities and to further promote greater international understanding and goodwill. Amount to be awarded verified annually.

Specific Criteria:  

1. Applicant must be sophomore or above at time of application
2. Essay that describes:
   • The university outside the United States where applicant will study. The location must be endorsed and accepted as a credit course in the applicant's WWU degree program. Applicant will provide and attach verification from Faculty Advisor or Registrar's office.
   • What applicant will study and how this will enhance his/her degree program
   • Why applicant is a strong candidate for international study
