Support
The support and generosity of college friends and alums have made an impact beyond measure upon the College. Gifts have:
- Funded scholarships for students at all levels
- Supported academic programs
- Enabled faculty to conduct research to enhance student education and improve the lives of our local community and across the world
- Extended community outreach through clinical services to children in our region with communication and developmental disabilities
Dean’s Fund for Excellence:
Created in 2008, the “Dean’s Fund for Excellence” is used at the discretion of the Dean to maintain the highest quality of education available. The funds can be used to support such projects such as:
- Student Assistantships
- Scholarship Support for Students on National Internships
- Teaching Enrichment for the Classroom
- Interdisciplinary Speaker Series
- Student and Faculty Research and Travel
Having the ability to direct funds at the college level allows the Dean to provide special funding as needs arise and to foster interdepartmental research and education. Examples of recent allocations from the Dean’s Fund include:
- The “Festival of Scholarships” (supporting student/faculty collaborative projects)
- The “Bond Children’s’ Conference” (supplemented by funding from Hasbro)
- An opportunity for CHSS students to meet with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. when he visited the campus
- “Northwest Regional History Day” that allowed CHSS students to present white papers at this significant event
