Q:

I think I have PMS but I don't want to take any drugs for it.  Are there some other things I can do to deal with those few days a month that I can't stand myself, and no one else can either?

A:

PMS tends to get worse when we are under extra stress, (ie: decreased sleep, irregular eating habits, forgetting to exercise), and so first pay attention to these basic needs.. They really are important, and can be easily overlooked. Some women find it helpful to increase their B vitamin intake, by eating more beans, legumes, dark leafy greens, whole grains, or even taking a supplement. If these measures are not sufficient, even if you don't want to take medicines, it would be wise to talk with your health care provider, because other conditions can worsen PMS symptoms.
