Q:

I was originally on micrognon 30 but it gave me terrible spots. Then I moved to brevinor, but makes me bleed heavily when I have sex. I have been recommended marvelon, will this be a better pill and stop this horrible bleeding?

A:

We are sorry, but our drug references do not list these medications.

Apparently "Marvelon" is a Canadian oral contraceptive with Desogestrel and estradiol. If you could read the labels off all of these pills, and tell us exactly which hormones (and in what amount), are in them, perhaps we could better answer your question.. In general, it does sometimes take trial and error to find a pill which suits an individual, so it is very possible that your new pill will work well, even if your past ones did not. It is best to give a new pill at least a three month trial (if there are no major problems with it)...as some minor side effects will go away in that amount of time. Good luck.
