No, this is not a common cause of nose bleeds. Herpes sores can bleed, but they are usually very tender and self-limited, so the cause of the bleeding is obvious. Once the herpes sores heal, there are no residual "sores" inside the nose that bleed--instead the cause may be from other factors such as mucus membrane drying, bacterial infection, or irritants (like smoke).
