What causes severe bloody noses where they will not stop until you visit the emergency room and they cauterize that area. My husband sleeps w/the electric heater until the room becomes v. stuffy. He also has diabetes and smokes.

Your husband needs a good Ear, Nose and Throat exam to determine that the source of the bleeding has been identified and definitively treated, and is not abnormal tissue (a risk in smokers).
