Q:

Doc,

I've been on Nordette 28 for a year and a half now. I've never missed a period and always start on Wednesday. This past month I did not have a period. I had all the "symptoms" that I usually have at this time of the month, but a week since I was suppose to start, nothing. I had some spotting before last Wed (on Fri, Sat and Sun), but nothing after and since then. It's been two weeks since my last sexual interaction. I've been a little more than normally stressed lately with school and outside school things. Should I be concerned? Do you think I should take a pregnancy test? I started my new pack of pills as usual on Sunday. Any suggestions? Thanks!

It sounds like an unusual cycle for you, possibly stress related, but if you have not missed any pills, the risk of pregnancy is low. I know it is hard to not worry about it though, so you certainly can get a pregnancy test done now to eliminate it from your worry list.

This can happen normally on the birth control pills but always is a little disconcerting if you are used to a regular timed period.
