Q:

I've been on Ovcon birth control pills for over three years and really like them. Before I started Ovcon I tried some other types of pills that gave me side effects. My question is: Would the birth control patch give me the side effects that the earlier pills I tried did, or might that be an easy switch after being on Ovcon? Thanks!

A:

Great question(s). The patch contains the chemical metabolites that are identical to those in the OrthoCyclen pills but at a lower dose, and therefore the same chemistry but still different dosing than in OrthoTriCyclen. If you really disliked either of these, then the patch might not be the way to go.

Many women are really liking the patch, especially those who like their pill but do not remember to take it consistently.

If you are interested to find out more, or to try a cycle or two, please don't hesitate to come by (that is, set up an appointment).
