Q:

What is the reason you can't re-stick the patch to yourself if it is coming off (but not completely), say, after a shower and you have dried off?

A:

Hi,

You can, and should, re-stick the patch if it becomes partially detached, but you are supposed to do this only using the patch itself (without new adhesives or tape). The inner layer of the patch has the adhesive and also the hormones that make it work, so my guess is; that if the adhesive in the patch is not enough to make it stick properly, then the hormones in the same layer won't be close enough to the skin to be absorbed properly. So (and this is my guess) if the only way you could make it stick was tape, then it would mean that it wasn't sticking close enough to work....Or, if you tried to apply some sort of new adhesive, then there would be a barrier to the hormones that need to be absorbed through the skin. As I said, this is my guess, and I will do some more research to see if this is right. There is a website: "www.orthoevra.com" which may have more information about this.

Good question!
