Q:

When I went on birth control I gained some weight, which is totally normal. I'm wondering if I went off the pill if I would lose the weight I gained, and would it make it easier to lose additional weight?

A:

The average amount of weight gained on the birth control pill is usually less than four pounds and generally fluid weight gain, not fat. You would likely lose that amount of weight coming off the pill, but with your own hormonal cycles, may have more weight fluctuation throughout the month. Additional weight loss would need to happen through the usual way--management of calorie intake and calorie expenditure.
