I was just curious...If you have unprotected sex one time with someone who has an STD, does that mean you have definitely contracted that STD or is there a chance that you might not have contracted it? Thanks.

 

A:

One exposure does not necessarily result in infection but possibly can, depending on many factors. Repeated exposure makes infection much more likely.
