Q:

I wanted to get the new HPV/cervical cancer vaccine, but I found out that it is only approved for 8-26 year-olds (I just turned 27 a few months ago). Because I am not, and never have been, sexually active - is there a possibility I could still receive the vaccine, or am I just out of luck?

A:

You are correct that the vaccine at this time is limited to the 8-26 year old age group, females only. It is being tested in males and older patients so the approval for other patients should come soon. We will be providing the vaccine in our clinic to eligible individuals.
