Q:

I'm on Nuvaring and went to the Health Center a few weeks ago to treat my breakthrough bleeding. The doc said I should insert a new ring right after the old one was removed instead of waiting a week to insert a new one because this would hopefully stop the bleeding. About a week ago the bleeding stopped and everything is normal. My question is, should I insert a new ring after this one is supposed to be removed instead of waiting a week again? Or since the bleeding has stopped, take the old ring out and wait a week as is the normal procedure?

A:

Hi

It would be best to resume use of the NuvaRing as normal, letting a week go by before the new ring is inserted.

Take care
