Nuva Ring: I was wondering if there is any reason why I would be having a brown discharge (as if the end of the period spotting) while being on the Nuva Ring (and it still being in)?
Background info: Have been on Ring for 3 months. Had two normal periods. Have had sex. Felt some pregnancy like symptoms - but didn't think I was. Took at home Pregnancy test few days ago - was negative.

Hi,
Likely the brownish discharge is the result of discharge being mixed with tiny amounts of blood. When you first start a method (esp a low dose method such as Nuvaring) there very often is some slight bleeding at random times until your body gets used to it, usually 3-4 months. As long as the ring has been in all the time that it should, I wouldn't worry too much. Of course, it is always best to use condoms as a back up method.
Make an appt here for more evaluation if it worsens instead of improves, OK?
