There are many types of scalp rashes. It would help to know if it is red, itchy, oozing, flaking, how long it's been there, whether it is spreading, whether you have rashes anywhere else.

Most common is seborrhea (inflamed scaly rash) and tinea capitis (fungus). The best shampoo for either is a prescription called Nizoral Shampoo.
