Q:
I think I have a stye on my left eyelid. I've had one before, this one isn't as painful but is an annoyance because I can feel it every time I blink. I've had it for two days now. Will it go away on it's own or should I come in to get it seen?
A:
Most styes will resolve on their own with hot packs (warm rags) to the eyelid several times a day. We rarely need to drain them or treat them with antibiotics. If the whole eyelid is swollen or into the facial tissue beyond the eyelid, then we definitely need to see you.
