Q:
A couple days ago I noticed I had an interesting bump on my thigh where there had been none prior. It almost looks like a spider bite, since it has a very, itty bitty scabbed over puncture-looking thing in the very center. It's swolen to about the size of a dime, feels solid (as in, it doesnt squish down when I press on it and doesn't move around either), and hasn't gone away after about three days or so.
Should I be worried? I had been working out my legs earlier before I noticed this anomalous lump, could that have caused it? Is this one of those things that requires a medical eye to look at?
A:
The short answer is yes, it could be a staph bacterial infection that needs to be opened and drained.
The long answer is yes, it could be a variety of things, none of which is dire or life threatening, but without seeing it, it is impossible to guess.
