Q:
I think my friend has an eating disorder, but she won't listen to me and she refuses to see a doctor. What can I do?
A:
Many individuals with eating and food issues do not see their behavior as anything abnormal or unhealthy so are very reticent to see a doctor or counselor. One of the first places they may be willing to consult is with a nutritionist, as often they have great interest in food information and choices.
Jill Kelly is our WWU dietician, and works at both the Rec Center and Student Health Center. She has appointments that are free and available to all enrolled students.
