My boyfriend is in a deep depression and desperately needs therapy, but is concerned about his financial situation. What kind of resources are available to us that are free or at least discounted?

You didn't say whether he is a WWU student or not. If he is a WWU student enrolled for 6 or more credits, he is eligible for free intake and brief therapy and referral at the Counseling Center in Old Main 650-3164, or mental health services at the Health Center. If he is enrolled for 3-5 credits, he has the option to pay the $70 Counseling, Health and Wellness Fee to be seen at the Counseling Center for brief therapy and unlimited visits at the Health Center. Under 3 credits, he can have a referral appointment at the Counseling Center.

If he is not a student, there are sliding scale clinics with counselors available at Interfaith Clinic and SeaMar Clinic. There is also a 24 hour Crisis Call Center for free at 1-800-584-3578.
