Q:
I am 19 years old and currently on my period.
Since last week I have been experiencing a number of symptoms such as soreness and weakness in my arms and hands, headaches, feeling tired and irritable, constipation, anxiety, hunger pains, shortness of breath, and feeling sick to my stomach. These feelings come and go, nor do they all happen at the same time.
I have been feeling routinely bad the week before my period for a few months now with constipation, headaches, and anxiety which I have attributed to PMS. This is the first time however I have had symptoms in my arms and hands. I'm wondering if I should come in to be checked out or this can be attributed to PMS?
A:
These are not typical PMS symptoms, so yes, you need to have the symptoms evaluated in the clinic.
