Q:
I eat healthy and I am at the gym 4 times a week and I am still having trouble losing weight. I have had the regular thyroid test done and it comes out normal. I was wondering if I should have the T3 test done? I do have a family history of hypothroidism. Should I see other reasons it may be difficult for me to lose weight such as medication and gentics.
A:
In the absence of other hypothyroid symptoms, it is unlikely this is a low T3
Have you reviewed your diet with our dietician Jill Kelly? It may be food portions or chioces that are the issue. I know it can be frustrating to not lose weight when you are doing all the right things, but try seeking her assistance at the Rec Center to see if there is a suggestion she may have.
