Q:
For month now I have had trouble concentrating with anything. During class, while doing homework, in the car, eating...no matter what I do I'm always lost in my thoughts daydreaming. I know day dreaming is alright but I have been lost in my thoughts more than normal and I always get distracted by anything. Should I be concerned about this and could if have anything to do with my recent move and my parents' divorce.
A:
It sounds as if you have a number of transitions in your life that may be causing pretty stressful circumstances so daydreaming can be a distraction and coping mechanism.
I'd advise you consult the counselors at the WWU Counseling Center about how to direct your mind and energy more effectively and how to deal with some of the stress happening right now.
