Q:
I went to the doctor for a yeast infection a little over a month ago, and she prescribed a 7-day cream and the infection cleared up. But about two weeks ago (right after my period) I got another infection. I got some OTC treatment (Monistat), but it has been 9 days since I finished the treatment and the infection hasn't gone away. I was wondering if I should try doing the OTC treatment again, or if I need to make an appointment for a stronger prescription.
A:
Since it has not gone away, you should be checked to confirm that it is yeast and not possibly another type of vaginal infection. Call 650-3400 to make a same day appointment with one of our women's health practitioners.
