I went home to visit the family on Friday and forgot to bring my birth control pills. I missed my Friday and Saturday one, but Sunday through this coming Saturday is my placebo week. If I missed my Friday and Saturday one, but continue to take this coming Sunday's pill just like normal, will it have any effect on the efficiency of it?

 

A:

Your period will start early and there is a slightly increased potential of pregnancy if you had ovulated late in this current cycle (which does happen on the birth control pills) and it can decrease effectiveness of the next cycle. You should have a pregnancy test done in two weeks to confirm you are not pregnant, and you should, as a precaution, use a back up method like foam and condoms, during the next cycle.
