Is it possible for the HPV causing common or plantar warts to cause genital warts through direct or indirect contact?

 

A:

It is possible but not very likely. HPV types are pretty specific to certain types of skin and are not very successful growing elsewhere, though it does happen (i.e. genital HPV occurring on the lips or tongue).
