Hello, I have a small strange bump on the back of my head, maybe about two inches behind my right ear. It's maybe the size of a nickel.

I have had it for a long time, but only recently has it started to hurt. Not all the time, but if I put pressure on it now it does. It has never done this before the past few days.

The spot is hard and feels almost like bone. I did a little research online and there are a few sources saying that it is a "fatty tumor", but they all seem to have conflicting explanations of the symptoms.

Anyway, I've just been a little worried recently about it and am wondering if I should stop in.

Let's check it, because it is worrying you. If it has been there this long without a change, it is unlikely something scary, but any change warrants an evaluation.
