Can a male partner get a yeast infection too? If I have one should he be treated?
A:
Yes, male partners can have tinea cruris which is yeast rash in the groin and genital area, quite red and itchy (jock itch). We don't recommend treating partners with no symptoms. Yeast is ever present on the genital skin, primarily due to the fact it is part of the typical American diet on a daily basis, so really can't be eradicated.
