Q:
I got the H1N1 vaccine when it was offered for free on campus. A few hours later I had a sore throat--one of the known side effects of the vaccine. It lasted for three or four days, went away for about three or four days, and came back about four or five days ago. Should I be worried about this?
A:
It would be unlikely for the vaccine to still be causing a sore throat so it is more likely caused by some virus you have been exposed to, or possibly strep throat. It is probably wise to come to the Health Center to be screened for strep.
